With only one past champion in the pro field, the women are basically numbered by PR. There are nine women with sub-2:20 PRs, and defending champion Sharon Lokedi (101/SHARON) is the presumptive favorite. Remember that in Boston, former winners are on a first-name basis with the entire region; until you’ve won, the family name is the one that goes on your bib.

Lokedi set the Boston course record last year at 2:17:22, and she has the fastest PR in the field. She’s run Boston several times and knows the course as well, or better, than anyone else in the front.
