Turns out almost all of my enjoyment of programming came from the learning and discovery that doing it well required. I've never much cared about the end result of that, and now the end result is all I have.

And so no matter how good or useful the program ends up being or how many feature requests I close or bugs I fix I just end up feeling perpetually unsatisfied and unaccomplished. Unfortunately nobody but me cares about the journey. They just want the program to do the thing. They don't care how it got there.
