@joenepraat@todon.nl@pixelfed.social Fun fact: the fact that the Netherlands doesn't celebrate Labour Day isn't even because King's Day is in April. Labour Day in the Netherlands was abolished by the German occupation in 1940, and wasn't reinstated after the liberation in 1945. Queens Day back then however was on 31 August, and only moved to April when Juliana took the throne in 1948 (effectively in 1949 since Wilhelmina abdicated after Juliana's birthday)
