@vk2bea@mastodon.radio In IARU R1, the band 1240 to 1300 MHz is assigned to amateurs ("the 23 cm band"). I have never used this band. How much interference do hams receive from Galileo, Beidu or QZSS satellites?

@Ea5iyl@mastodon.radio The 23cm amateur band is assigned on a secondary allocation. We are not to interfere with the primary user (navigation services). GNSS signals are wide-band direct sequence spread spectrum. This protects them somewhat from interference from narrow band signals; however, low power or poorly designed receivers are likely subject to overload from a strong nearby transmission which may adversely effect performance.
