@raven@fedi.raventhemaker.com bash is sort of a haven right now The disdain for it has left us in a state of benign neglect, without the pressures that have led other languages to a proliferation of package archives & dependency management created to try the impossible task of being all things to all people. Even the rise of fish & PowerShell on the one side and dash on the other reify the utility of this mode of working, something that so readily can be either interactive or scripted. There is a raft of scripting languages that can be used interactively but beyond newcomer introductions or troubleshooting I don't know that they get routine, continuous, ongoing use. does anyone live in, say, a ruby or python or lua prompt like many of us do a bash (or adjacent unix-like shell) prompt? (I mean, I'm sure there might be low exceptions-that-prove-the-rule for each. But I mean, is there a community?)
