x11 isnt even that out of date, i feel that every attempt to drop x11 is way too premature because so many people still use it, especially bsd users!
this is unlike the linux kernel's decision to drop extremely old arches recently which, while a weird decision, somewhat makes sense. for x11 it personally doesnt make sense to me.

@nune I can believe the graphics stack underlying Wayland being easier to maintain than X11, but it just isn't a replacement. So much just doesn't work still, because it's by design
