Today I've followed rite with Last Quarter meditations 🌗 & helping to paint the room that's turning into the nursery. The room's color had been a lovely blue, but since so many people are insane about color-based gender assumptions, the baby is going to have a green forest wonderland room for the time being. We'd prefer nobody jump to conclusions about them being a boy unless they tell us as much (I'm expecting that to be around age 3 or 4). In the meantime they'll get to wear & have plenty of "boy things" alongside "girl things" & neutral things, but since it's simplest to paint their room just one color, neutral it is.

To be clear: apart from the room color issue, so far we have no reason to believe this baby is any more likely to be gendered male by other people than they are to be gendered female. & we aren't going to find out what the medical system will consider them to be, not until they're born.
