Usability is a key part of cryptography, and avoiding user error is one of the most important things in a cryptographic system. See for example Enigma.
You can also blame the users, but that doesn't take away any responsibility from the cryptographic system.

@ahltorp@mastodon.nu @jtb@toot.wales No, the main problem is the person using the device. As long as people aren't careful, it doesn't matter how good the platform is. Especially when you're a member of the government. ☝️ You can't go through life without using your head.
