Alienation is a bitch To continue riffing, alienated subcultures are more memetically derived (ie: memetically evolved), hence their outsized influence on cultural progress... OF COURSE the outsiders drive cultural evolution, they're the ones with perspective! I wish i had the luxury of blind faith in society. Moreover, i wish that pointing out issues of oversite and abuse — places where the system can AND SHOULD improve — weren't treated as assaults on that system. Corruption is bad, actually
