In conclusion, I wish I could get my hands on the detailed schematics of these computers, their instruction sets, and enough of the programs or protocol docs that I could follow along more precisely with what these transmissions mean, and how this brilliant machine is put together. Sadly, I've not found anything comprehensive, at best high level block diagrams and bits and pieces of information like word sizes and the like. Hi JPL, I expect you're quite busy, but if you can share... pls?

    Someone did point out to me https://researchworks.oclc.org/archivegrid/data/733100114 , which says the JPL archive has 17 cubic feet of documents under the rubric "Voyager Computer Command Subsystem Document Collection, 1967-1977". Which is only one of the three computers, and probably contains a lot of chaff like invoices from the contractors and the like, and also there's some demoralizing words about review and clearance being required for "foreign release", which is me :(
