@mayintoronto@beige.party misskey.io and other Japanese misskey instance have ads that you can disable. Most of them are promoting art event, indie games, vtuber, photography gathering, manga release, or even promoting other instance. Not to forget a reminder to fund the instance itself. It's actually a good way to discover cool people in the instance community. These ads also have cool design or event handrawn artwork. Here's some banner example:
