@matthew@social.retroedge.tech I remember that when the first USB ports started showing up. Gamers were hardcore serial ports too for their controllers.

@matthew@social.retroedge.tech @SamuraiSakura@mastodon.bsd.cafe I used a PS/2 connector for my keyboard through like 2018 because, when I built that computer ca. 2013, N-key rollover over USB wasn’t really a thing yet, so my Das Keyboard came with an adapter and my motherboard still had a port for it.

@matthew@social.retroedge.tech @SamuraiSakura@mastodon.bsd.cafe I believe server motherboards also had them til recent years — hell, maybe some still do! Mainly because VGA+PS/2 KVMs used to be much less expensive than their DVI+USB counterparts :marseyemojismilemoutheyes:
