English: Defender
Me, doing a #translation: Um... was it bang-eo-su?
Search engine: That's the North Korean term, the South Korean term is subisu.
Me: Oh well, close enough? 😜 I'm so out of touch with #baseball tbh

Bang-eo (防禦 "block and stop") and subi (守備 "protective readiness") both translate to "defense" in English, but bang-eo is often used in more military and martial contexts while subi is pretty much exclusively for sports, especially non-contact events. English is more like North Korean in this case in mixing up its military and sports terms, it seems.
