I’m happiest as a developer, but I’ve spent time doing what people now call devops, but we used to just call operations. I even helped look after mainframes at one point, when to get to “ultimate root” you had to use a specific hard wired terminal - and it was just a dumb terminal. I’ve had the talk “if that light & siren goes, evacuate *immediately* because you can’t breathe Halon” So sometimes it’s fun to do a little server work. I’m not competent outside a home lab anymore though

One weird thing I found after the Gitea upgrade: I was re-testing the backup scripts and discovered that “gitea dump” now for some reason produces a completely uncompressed zip file. I was puzzled to see my dump file go from 4GB to almost 50GB (and this doesn’t include LFS)
