@RedRobyn@mastodon.nz Watch what happens as petrol prices continue to climb. It should be mandated but we can voluntarily ease off the accelerator. I did lots of kms in an old 1st-gen Leaf so that lesson was front of mind any time I needed to cover any distance.

@phil_stevens@mastodon.nz It's certainly an eye-opening experience, especially if you have only ever gone with the traffic flow. The fact that I've never had a speeding ticket hints that I often don't bow to that peer pressure, so I already had a fair idea what it would be like. The funniest following vehicles are the ones you think are being super courteous with safe following distances, until you slow at a good overtaking opportunity and they slow to match you. I eventually realised they were probably half asleep on adaptive cruise control, not just patient
