@zebcestbien@piaille.fr I've participated in both: Ropecon has a display painting competition. IPM is more like a scale model show with a more casual competition (your name is put next to your entries, for one thing), from which I've taken home a few pins. They even have a non-competition display category that I used last year, but I really want to avoid competition-like contexts altogether so my painting style isn't viewed in comparison to more traditionally-styled entries. https://dice.camp/@tiikerikani/115335643572455363
