But, the Blackwing long point sharpener is fantastic — also pricey, but it makes a great long point that’s slightly concave. My biggest gripe is that the shavings and lead dust will spill out if you throw it in your bag. It’s best to just keep it upright at your desk. (If anyone out there has figured out how to 3D print a travel cap for this, please share!)

For travel sharpeners, I really like very affordable Sonic Ratchetta.
