@jdonoghue@hachyderm.io @CrypticMirror@mstdn.social according to this report there were just over 400,000 regular givers in 2021 down by 30% over the previous decade. This is published and publicly available data, so why were they so eager to think the opposite was happening?

@satsuma@dice.camp @CrypticMirror@mstdn.social Why they were happy to see the opposite is obvious. Why they thought they could see the opposite is the aforementioned supposedly robust survey. They were incorrect, but that doesn't mean they had nefarious intent.
