@slugmilk@metroholografix.ca @xs4me2@mastodon.social @shadur@mastodon.sandwich.net @dynamite_ready@mastodon.gamedev.place @reading_recluse@c.im Extremely bad, but not for long. There is no such thing as AI yet, and specifically, "generative AI" **is not AI.** It is nor artificial, and it is not intelligent. Artifical means built using artifice. Built by an artificer. LLMs are giagantic many-dimensional statistical databases built by softwaree. No human can read them or edit them. That is not manmade. If I build a machine that makes teacups from clay, those are not handmade teacups. They're machine made and whether that machine was handmade is irrelevant. Intelligence is self explanatory: they can't think, or even count. They are totally unsuitable for any form of systems control. Now, machine learning, that's different... but it's not genAI.

@slugmilk@metroholografix.ca @lproven@social.vivaldi.net @shadur@mastodon.sandwich.net @dynamite_ready@mastodon.gamedev.place @reading_recluse@c.im I'm in the medical industry. I would not think it would be a problem if it is tested, clinically validated, subject to the regulations in the market and approved by competent authorities....
