@mikehindleuk@mastodon.social I worked with an artist who was using Squarespace, and we ultimately moved to WordPress because of limitations in what Squarespace offered in terms of SEO (specifically structured data). You're right that Squarespace does a good job with the basics, but it didn't do enough to get her art visible the way we wanted. Yes, the details get technical quickly, and maybe it's not important to everyone, but the fact that we couldn't do what we wanted to do at all was a dealbreaker with Squarespace.

@kgourlay@tech.lgbt Nice one Kenneth. Appreciate the feedback. I've not added any yet, but I believe it's relatively easy now to add structured data to Squarespace. I think the basic, built-in schema will be enough for my personal site, though. I'll keep an eye on how it affects rankings compared with WordPress over the next few months 🧐 Thanks again 🙌🏻
