This is pretty inspiring, and getting part of the glass to being sand back is great. Another way, still used, i.e. by brewries, is to have the bottles returned and washed. Two years ago, the french parliament voted against a law putting incentives to have it back for most of the bottles. Recycling bottles in green containers started in the 70's. Alledgedly to bring funds to cancer research.
