@penguin42@mastodon.org.uk @regehr@mastodon.social the iMXRT on this board has basically two purposes (i RE'd most of the firmware) it has a static register write sequence that it blasts into the RFEsit performs very basic monitoring functions and talks to the rest of the system via another RS-232. it also lights up a LED on the front panel i think there's oddly little connectivity between the MCU and the FPGA and the RFEs; the FPGA can't configure the RFEs for example, and the MCU/FPGA link seems to be a single UART that doesn't seem to be used much
