There is an entirely unhelpful nexus between 'centrist' governments and 'central' banks that escalates wealth upwards even when the intention (for example of the UK Labour Party) is the opposite - and also, incidentally, creates (out of nothing) the power of 'bond vigilantes'. The bond markets don't really have any power - they in fact need governments more than governments need them - but the fiscal and monetary rules have been rigged in their favour.
