The evanescent whispers
That are pions and kaons
Higgs bosons and more
In the Large Hadron Collider
In their short lives
Do they feel rage, joy, sadness
Bitterness toward each other
Awareness of their environment
Just as we do, as living humans
With a lifespan that’s similar
Relative to a small star
That will shine for trillions of years
And whose remains will shine
For trillions more?
