Instead of a parallel IDE cable and CompactFlash adapter card, there's this elegant solution of an adapter that plugs straight into the motherboard, no cable required. Works really well!
So now there's only 1 flat cable for the CDROM, and the BIOS detects both.

The second scope supports Windows XP instead of Windows 98. Someone hosts a Symantec Ghost image. Takes almost 45 minutes to install, but after that, the scope boots Windows XP.
