Why are you regularly bathing your cats? After they get to a certain age they are self-cleaning

It’s good prudence to clean them once a year to deal with things the dogs or myself might’ve brought in. Dogs especially. Also one of my cat’s is old and can’t really clean himself entirely. It’s true one shouldn’t bathe them more than that, as it would cause skin issues.
