You ever seen someone apply a tourniquet in movies or TV shows? Like an effective tourniquet that actual stops bleeding? I tried one on myself, just to practice using it before I actually need to (because reading instructions after accidentally burying an axe in your thigh is hard). God DAMN they're painful. I of course didn't fasten it anywhere close to actual clamping the artery because that would be unnecessarily dangerous when uninjured, but honestly I think I'd rather bleed out.
