@MiaWinter@tech.lgbt often short works are purer — the ones that just spring from your mind without planning and editing and overthinking (you can't do the same things with them that you can do with a longer story, but sometimes you don't need to) and when you've got a lot of intense emotions, and haven't written for a while, they tend to all come out at once, like crying out same thing for music, which hasn't quite been the same since the specter of global thermonuclear annihilation faded in the nineties

    @tomoyo@tech.lgbt yeah... But I also think something great can be done with stories that have a lot of work put into them, the shortness lends to a refinement that begs to explude everything unneeded and when no word is wasted, it can stir a reader like few else I just don't have the skill to do it (yet) so the "getting it perfect first time or not at all" approach is the only one I have right now It's what wrote Vivian has a chicken sandwich and it is what wrote Her and it was wrote corrupted memory Hopefully I can do my stories more justice in the future
