I'm sad I didn't do umbrella justice but I was really feeling down and needed to hype myself up
I think it was even van goth that said that while his mental episode made him a better artist, it sucked *while having it*

I don't believe in the tortured artist, at all. There is a richness of experience that informs art one has to have somehow, and trauma can provide that yes, but many other human experiences can do that as well. However you can barely create anything when you can't even get yourself to leave the bed no matter what

@MiaWinter@tech.lgbt yeah, it's passionate intensity that really makes for good art... and pain / misery can make for one kind of passion, but there are others
