You seem to imply that ghost writing is ethical which it isn't. Ghost writing leads to people benefiting from the work and ability of others without the original author getting proper credit nor in most cases fair compensation.

@the_moep@mastodon.de @ct_bergstrom@fediscience.org It depends on the situation. I’ve done copywriting anonymously and been well compensated for it. I’m not particularly bothered that people don’t know that I’ve written about turkey feed, choosing good hoses or ladders, how to select a good beginner’s guitar or about plumbing services for a local plumber in North Carolina. Celebrities having best sellers being ghost written is another matter. They should, at the least, say, “Co-written by”.
