Specifically looking at Di-ammonium Phosphate, the prices are lower than Feb '22 but there is a positive correlation with UREA.
So a combination of commodity prices going up, compressed margins due to tariffs and destruction of their export market, makes this a perfect storm for a future food shortage.
The government could step in and bail out the farmers, but at this point, Trump doesn't need their votes anymore and doesn't plan on going anywhere so 🤷♂️

@coolcalmcollected@mastodon.social @inthehands@hachyderm.io Take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm certainly no farmer and defer to Sarah's expertise. There is a reason farm bankruptcies are on the rise, and this situation just went from bad to worse for many that were on the edge previously. In a lot of cases, they are getting everything they voted for and nothing they actually wanted. Because SURPRISE, we are all connected and NOW they are in the Finding Out stage
