@PeterSommerlad@mastodon.social @mikill@mastodon.world In OSM, we try to map things objectively, as independent as feasible from subjective categorization. Thus, while «Sidewalk Joy» spots can certainly be mapped in OSM (as they seem to be something observable on-the-ground / in-the-field), whether they can be mapped in a way to be recognizable as «Sidewalk Joy» spots depends on what that concept really is. 1/7

@PeterSommerlad@mastodon.social @mikill@mastodon.world The website says «Sidewalk Joy spots are free, curated public galleries, exchanges and displays.» Is every such spot a «Sidewalk Joy» spot, @Dr_Bombay@mstdn.social? Or only those explicitly listed on https://worldwidesidewalkjoy.com? If the former, they can be mapped in OSM as such¹. If the latter — and if it's not observable at the spot itself (without consulting the website) whether the spot is or isn't a «Sidewalk Joy» spot — then that aspect doesn't belong in OSM. 2/
