OMFG THIS. I lose my shit at the end of RotK when Frodo reawakens in the Shire, and one by one all of his friends visit his bedroom and greet him. The camera pans back and forth between each one’s entry and their hugging Frodo… until Sam finally arrives… and simply leans against the doorway and stares lovingly at Frodo, and Frodo returns the same gaze. There are _very_ few hills I am willing to die on… but Sam was the real hero and I don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks.
