(And sorry if this came out wrong: there's also a lot of complicated things in CS and software engineering if you dive deep, of course. That's why AI also is not able to build proper complicated things. I did not want to downplay that.)

    @bleeptrack@vis.social I do like how Processing has approached this, even though I don't use it. I admire the accessibility of it, combined with deep tools for folks who know how to use them...and a path for learning how to use them.

    @bleeptrack@vis.social Yes, there are deep and complicated things, and these are the things that slop is useless for. (unless someone else has already done it and the slop just copies it and takes their names off). But most of the deep and complicated stuff sits at layers that are boring and invisible to people who don't already know how to program. Things like making websites, games, tools to organize information, "business logic", etc. do not involve anything deep and complicated and they *should have been accessible to normies decades ago* if not for gatekeeping assholes piling on layers of complexity-increasing abstractions.
