The human mind is an interesting thing.
I made the decision to leave a service I've loved for many years because I do not agree with its recent practices as they could have devastatingly real negative impact on the more vulnerable users in their ecosystem.
I was about to make a post on my decision, naming the company, and the why. Then I got to thinking about the WHY I wanted to make this announcement. Was there a reason why I felt compelled to announce this? Would it benefit me, or the situation? The only benefit would be someone reads my post and realizes they weren't aware of this company's actions and make the same decision. Perhapy others may read my post and think I am virtue signaling and looking for praise for taking a moral high ground. Ultimately, I decided not to make the announcement for any number of reasons. Take your pick. I've always found it funny that people feel the need to say they are no longer doing XYZ thing with ABC company becausy of DEF reasons, yet I found myself compelled to to the vert thing I was confused by others doing.
The human mind is an interesting system. It's the most fortified computer system in existence, yet so fantastically flawed and prone to so many exploits.
