@TimR@mas.to @trumpet@mas.to I think that's due to a very large queue that's very backed up. When you click follow, it doesn't interact with the DB instantly — instead, it queues your follow request because it requires a handshake with an external server. @TimR@mas.to @trumpet@mas.to I had the same problem but it started working properly about 3 or 4 hours ago. Unfortunately all my pendings stayed pending, but if I went back and cancelled request then re-followed it worked. Not sure if the backlog will ultimately clear. Also not sure how you actually see all the federated users you've followed as they don't appear under Following, although maybe that will fix itself later?

@TimR@mas.to It's just lag, the whole fediverse is slow at the moment! Our server has to talk to theirs, and their has to respond.
