That same open source project can be used to build defenses, empower political organizations, protect journalists, political dissidents, etc.
Setting the precedent of inserting political clauses that have nothing to do with the users autonomy, control and privacy is a really bad idea - because now you've opened Pandoras box and will be forced to use leaky pro-Isreal code.

Element and Nextcloud licenses are violated for sure when their code is incorporated into proprietary suites with EULA and another organization mentioned as the developer in the copyright footers.
