@bert_hubert@fosstodon.org Reading over your updated page, it seems like we just have different interests. For looking things up, all modern biology textbooks are basically interchangeable, and I know because I've been on textbook selection committees many times and looked at so many of them. They're written by committees, each with their own biases, and they all read that way. I wouldn't bother putting any of them on a "best of" list. I mostly use OpenStax in my classes so my students don't have to pay.
