@themipper@mastodon.social The esp32s3 is a 3v3 device. Looks like you are feeding it 5v signals. You will need to use a logic level converter if your i2c slave is fixed at 5v.

@algaeman@mastodon.social as soon as I tooted I spotted the problem. I was connecting to the wrong 3,3 and ground circuit 🤦♂️ Beginner problems.
