@Huntn00@mastodon.world I saw it years ago so I'm sure the problem is only much much worse, but I saw someone - y'know, it might've been someone from The Atlantic - who compared what you'd have to spend in a year to gain access to one newspaper, versus the same amount of editorial voices via Substack. And it was, yeah, like $30 for NYT or whatever, but then, literally like $7k for the equivalent feed on Substack.
