I have wondered whether there might not be general value in learning a range of arithmetic bases and getting familiar with all of them, rather like the benefits of knowing multiple languages. I've poked around a bit with memorizing the base-20 Kaktovik numerals (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaktovik_numerals) and doing operations with them, but that's just a start
