@Arpie4Math@mathstodon.xyz Here you might get 10 or so candidates standing in a constituency (say 60k population) but usually fewer stand unless it's a famous one they can get publicity from, e.g. where one of the party leaders is running. You have to put up a money deposit, which you forfeit if you don't get 5% of the vote, and in most seats only 2 or 3 of the candidates have any chance of winning.
