@elgringomexicano@mastodon.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr A lot of these things are backdoored at the hardware level, which is at least one ulterior motive underlying the bans or whatever on Chinese hardware (either not backdoored at all or China has control over them). The big EUV lithography machine manufacturer is in the Netherlands, so the EU should be able to cut the USA out of the loop if it uses one of its own products (and, frankly, should use only things of its own sovereign devisings from the raw materials up).
