@alxcndr@mastodon.social the biggest free software projects are produced at least in part by people who are paid for it. Also, how big a percentage of software developers works on free software? and how big a percentage just wants to do anything that's not coding?

    @Wolf480pl@niu.moe the biggest free software projects yes. But if you look at the total free software produced, the small unheard projects are outweighing the rest (long tail). My point is, this is evidence that people just don't slack off, especially when they are well fed and paid. This is not an oddity. Another example are Video creators. Most of youtubers don't live from their videos. Why do they continue then? The easiest thing to do would be to slack off. Why is that then?
