@Wolf480pl@niu.moe @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com Businesses want to see what content generates more views in order to make more and better of it as well as promoting it more to people more likely interested, thus getting more income. The fix would depend on changing the economic model to one where businesses can largely profit without studying their users in detail, by e.g. relying less on advertising and more on word-of-mouth.

@Wolf480pl@niu.moe @lain@pleroma.soykaf.com After reading the article, I'm glad that there's a proposal to do this very thing by offering subscriptions. But right now the leading economical model is based on tracking & advertising, and we first have to show that such an alternative is profitable.
