@Nazani@universeodon.com archive.org runs on fair use clause and they are also getting sued and occasionally lose a bit (e.g. digitizing books in covid)

@martenson@mastodon.world But at least there's an argument for the material on Archive, whereas there's no doubt that taking the work of living authors & artists for your company's profit is unjustifiable.
