@martenson@mastodon.world In my personal opinion, the only thing really threatened by "AI" are stock photos and people who write SEO texts for websites. And I say that as a photographer who has sold stock photos before. At the same time I'm excited about things we just can't do by hand. Imagine a video game where "AI" doesn't replace hand-written and voice acted dialogue but fills the gaps in places the writers couldn't foresee, at the same time freeing up resources for the scenes that are actually important.

    @dfyx@social.helios42.de It depends. I suspect there is likely a whole class of people in the US that will soon be barred from talking to their doctor via health-LLM proxy.

    @martenson@mastodon.world Or even shorter: "AI" isn't the problem. Greedy executives who value a quick buck higher than creative expression are. Therefore I'd rather regulate those executives than a mere tool that could just as well kickstart a young artist's career and give us something we've never seen before.
