@martenson@mastodon.world I'm quite aware what current "AI" is under the hood. Still the fact is that it's here and we can't just stuff it back into Pandora's box so we'd better find a way to regulate it in a way that facilitates use cases where it actually does things that wouldn't be feasible for a human artist or writer and at the same time doesn't endanger those same artists and writers. Make it a tool they can use instead of one that replaces them.

@martenson@mastodon.world Making it so the unmodified output can't be directly used for profit sounds like a good compromise to me. Artists can still use it as prototypes, inspiration or whatever and transform it into parts of their own work. At the same time, the bare AI-generated stuff would not be copyrightable, disincentivizing companies from cutting out the artists completely. (again to be continued)
