unfortunately, "4-20" has much more of a ring than "20-of-4"
also it starts a turf war when you challenge the American date format

Yeah, but 4:20 originates as a time. The problem happens when you want to put it into a date as well. Time is the only exception where I agree that the less specific part can come before the more specific one - just because more often than not one does not make sense without the other.
