So Justice Alito says this is merely an update to the existing law since Black people are voting in ever increasing numbers. I submit this is the very reason why they changed it. The original Voting Rights Act is the reason why we are voting in ever increasing numbers. By the way, wasn't Congress supposed to be the body to make updates and such?
